- The upper member follows a continuous curved sweep into a circular page-hole retainer.
- The lower member begins straight from the retainer toward the alignment line, then curves alongside its paired member.
- A discreet rear strip keeps each assembly vertically parallel. The finished view hides all construction guides.
Ornamental ring-binding
A paired brass-gold binding inspired by Ash’s sketch. Explore the spacing and page movement without changing the approved Book.

Ten positions are the starting study
Compare 8, 10 or 12 equally spaced ring positions. The demonstration uses a 540-unit leaf height, 430-unit spacing span, 93-unit ring reach and 9-unit retainer radius. These are scalable drawing units, not physical dimensions.
- Choose the preferred ring count and visual prominence before Book integration.
- Confirm whether the straight lower lead-in and curved upper member match the intended geometry.
- Approve page-turn pace and the amount of metal visible over the inner page margin.
This demonstration uses a virtual hinge at the retainer centers and a projected page turn. It does not simulate physical paper sliding around closed rings, material flex, manufacturing tolerances or mechanical interference.
Separate prototype only. Neutral sample pages, not approved Book content. No network requests, analytics, database or persistent browser storage. No integration or publishing authorization is implied. Your operating system’s reduced-motion setting switches animated turns to instant changes; the angle slider remains manually controllable.
